TISA in a nutshell....

TISA is all of us, the you's and the me's, that wish to be friends, join hands together and build a world of international friendship.

TISA's vision is to reach out to as many students as possible and give each a chance to contribute, enjoy and become better persons in the process.

Our realization: It just feels so much better and worthwhile to be living in a place where you know everyone around and be able to do the things you like with the people you love... your friends; most especially when you are far away from home.

The CIRCLE takes care of TISA. These guys and girls give their hearts out for the association and for the students they serve. It would be great if you would join the CIRCLE and contribute to a greater cause. :)

What is TISA?

TokyoTech International Student Association, or TISA is the most international student association and network in Tokyo Institute of Technology. Representing more than 1000 international students from 70 different countries, all are invited to join the melody of fun and fellowship as the association pursues friendship building to bring to life "the World of International Friendship."

TISA's Vision & Objectives

The TISA vision is to create the World of International Friendship. A network of students from all over the world sharing & developing talents, skills & friendship for the purpose of living the best possible international experience.

The Objectives are, first, to SUPPORT international students of Tokyo Tech so that they can live the best possible life and experience in Japan, but also to provide some ENTERTAINMENT and OPPORTUNITIES for students to reach personal fulfillment.

Why join TISA?

Joining TISA will be a decision to befriend the world and a choice to contribute to something greater than oneself...
If you wish the following...
1) create international friendships that last a lifetime
2) enhance your skills, talents and leadership abilities
3) enjoy activities of your own interests and more

...then TISA is the best friend to have.

Tokyo Tech provides each student the opportunity to grow in technical knowledge and skills. However, for a person to be fully effective in their profession and non-professional life there needs to be holistic training and balanced experience. TISA provides dynamic activities that enable the creative spirit in each individual; enhancing each persons ability to be the best they can be.

Who runs TISA?

TISA is run by the students. Students altogether build the association and continually expand its network of friends. Students that wish to contribute more for the association may belong to the CIRCLE. The CIRCLE is the student-volunteer group that organize TISA's activities and maintain the vision-building of the association.

History

It all started with a need to have one voice for the international students; a group that would ensure that none would be left out and all students could be represented in the University. It was also evident that there needed to be a global friendship spirit, a family that all international students could belong to. Hence the journey to bring all international students together began. TISA was officially formed on the month of October in the year 2007. A group of 13 TokyoTech students from different countries came together and forged a friendship and a truce that would pave the way to what we would call TISA today. Ever since, TISA has been organizing the INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WELCOME PARTIES, INTERNATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVALS, and other activities that enhance international friendship and unity. Our history is everyday in the making...

THIS YEAR'S PLAN

This year we launch TISA's VISION: the WORLD of INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP!
It will be a ground breaking year for TISA as we will have our first official group of Officers that comprise the CIRCLE. Partnering this would be our greatest advertisement and publicity campaign calling for the members and volunteers as we now have our official membership application through the official website. This year we hope to build TISA's friendship that would enable sustainability and better reach for the association.
